The tags seen in this video are prototypes that were used during an Uncle shark doo doo doo doo shirt. The final version of the tags will be smaller, about the size of a remora the suckerfish you sometimes see hanging on to these one-to-two-ton sharks for the ride. No one knows, but our researchers are hoping these new tags will help them learn just that! What a great project! Really excited to hear that the research in the Revillagigedo Archipelago and Guadalupe on the white sharks is being followed up with this hopefully mystery-resolving research. As a diver, the answer to this question is very intriguing. Looking forward to hearing much more! I love Monterey!
