They can be very fast, I went to give medical care one time to a Sloth in a pocket shirt and out of nowhere he hooked my hand so fast no one saw him move but they helped me unhook him, still have the scar 6 yrs later. That sloth crossing the street was in Costa Rica and thankfully some humans picked him up and put him on a tree. Otherwise, he would have been death sloth. A few months ago we were wondering if sloths fight in the wild like chimps, so we searched for online videos. Their fights were so tame and slow-mo! But still, those claws can inflict serious damage!
