Last time I went on a slide, it was still metal – and you totally avoided the broiling metal slide on a hot day or you could get burned before you could get off the slide! That just static electricity effect and it’s very common in cold regions. Due to the low moisture in the air, this effect works effectively. Just rub a comb with cotton and then hold it towards a small piece of papers. U will see a similar effect. Static electricity is caused by friction. It’s worse in the winter when the air is dry. I have felt the crackle of static electricity going down plastic slides but my hair never stood up.
